Twist the knife again

Twist the knife again (oil on panel, 50x70cm 2025) is a response to the thousands of years women were only painted by men, as object of the look. Every sexualizing stare twists the knife again. It does not stop here: the objectification has led and still leads to sexual assault, rape and abuse.

Every painting of women as object of the look confirms and strengthens the concept of objectification. Why do naked women in paintings always have to be a pleasure to look at?

Remember what you must do
when they undervalue you,
when they think
your softness is your weakness,
when they treat your kindness
like it is their advantage.

You awaken
every dragon,
every wolf,
every monster
that sleeps inside of you
and you remind them
what hell looks like
when it wears the skin
of a gentle human.”
